Good Thursday 7-21-2022
I have a nice book. We certainly have the heat (105 F. today with a heat index of 110+). All I’m missing is the beach!
I even have a photo of beautiful sandpipers!
Thankfully, we have good air conditioning and only go out if we choose to.
Yesterday was a wonderful afternoon. We ate our lunch and relaxed a bit after errands. I did an early session of yoga, since the wonderful bug spraying guy was coming at 5:30. I then went up and played in my art room, making good progress on the presents I’m making for friends. I finished up there and was coming down, meeting my husband on the stairs. He was coming up to tell me the buy spraying guy was here. He does such a good job for us, although he won’t spray for elephants…
I had a very unusual thing happen. I ordered some new tops recently. (That isn’t unusual, but the result was.) I tried one of them on this morning and they were WAAY TOOO LARGE! This IS unusual! We will take them to the UPS Store today or tomorrow so that I can obtain a refund and then I’ll reorder, ordering two sizes smaller. (I have the feeling this brand runs really large, but it feels really good to have something be too large for me to wear. :0)

Happy Sunday 4-17-2022
Happy Easter! Happy Passover! Happy Sunday!
I wish you a happy day, a happy celebration, a quiet, calm day.
Yet another rainy day here in Arkansas. After today, we’re supposed to have something appear in the sky that lights everything up and warms the air. I’m interested to see what that is. Maybe we can find and plant some tomato plants either Monday or Tuesday!
I have Easter memories swirling.
Fuzzy SOFT pink angora sweater that made me feel very feminine for the first time a hundred years ago. Sweet rabbits my parents got for the family as pets – we named them “Welsh” and “Peter” Rabbit. Dyeing Easter eggs. Hunting for Easter eggs with a big basket. Eating Easter eggs. Then, many years later, Dyeing and Hiding Easter eggs for our son, plus for my students at school where I taught. Beautiful services. Soul-filling songs.
I am hoping for a quiet, calm day today. :0)

It’s Still Winter
Although winter is not my favorite season, there are things I love about it –
Snow people and critters are one of my favorite things. Again, the creativity shown by people amazes me.
- I love snowball fights (though not HARD snowballs in my face),
- making snow angels,
- walking around while it’s snowing trying to catch snowflakes on my tongue,
- appreciating fresh snow blanketing everything,
- the QUIET after a snow,
- riding on a sled
- I also love making hot chocolate and other comfort foods to enjoy when people come in from the cold.

Arty Acorns
It amazes me that some people take a creative bent and keep creating until there is simply no one else in their class anymore. I feel that Petr Vaclavek – Dubanci.cz has achieved this level. I love the idea that he began this to entertain his kids and then got hooked, thinking of more and more ideas. Now it’s definitely an art form and he is the master.

ONE Ant
I’m resting a bit this morning from trying to clean up my square foot garden. I finished the weeding yesterday, but I haven’t done the final spraying (one for bugs and another for any weed roots I missed) or covered the boxes with tarps yet. ONE ant found me yesterday and bit/stung me on my left forearm, making it swell up like a toad. I treated it with Benadryl Ointment, one of my miracle drugs, so I just have one small white ‘bubble’ on my mildly swollen, slightly itchy, tender arm this morning. I have about an hour of work left to secure the garden. I will try to take some pics for to share with you later today.
We will pick up our order of some frozen meals from Real Food in Greenwood today. We are really lucky to have Real Food and Stu’s Clean Cookin’ both of which opened in Greenwood in the past year. The cooking styles are quite different, which gives us nice variety. Both provide good meals with reasonable portions, no preservatives, frozen into individual meals perfect for us. Interspersed are some splurges with Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice, plus my own cooking separated and frozen into individual meals after our initial meal.
It is on my list to clean up my drafting table in my art room before I try any more experiments. The last acrylic pour I did spilled over onto the glass I use to protect the table. I’m HOPING I have enough ‘spills’ to try a 4th technique I saw on YouTube. :0)
