We had a really nice day yesterday, full of good weather, projects for the day being accomplished, enjoying our animals, and – to end it on the perfect note – we grilled steaks on the deck and had them with baked potatoes.

I told you we’re TRYING to learn portions. Oh, well. Last night we pigged out and ate the whole thing.

We KNOW that if this were a Nutrisystem meal, they would have included 1/3 or less of the steak – sliced thinly and with a gravy, 1/3 or less of the potato (and probably cheesed it up a bit). We would have eaten a salad with it.

Instead, we each ate our whole steak and the whole baked potato with butter while enjoying a Jackie Chan movie in the living room.  The package of steak included three steaks, so I’m going to cut THAT up and we’ll have dinner salads in the evenings as our meal until that is gone.

So, now we’re up a pound since the meal and vowing we’ll do better the NEXT time we eat a flex meal…

On a wonderful note, my husband got his new jeans yesterday and they fit perfectly and he looks wonderful. His waist is now a good 4 inches smaller now. I just bagged up three larger sizes of jeans we’ll take – along with the leaf bag of tops that are too large for me now :0)  – to the Veterans Thrift Store tomorrow to donate. He still has some tummy he wants to get rid of, but he’s really close to a good weight now. I’m trying to encourage him to do some sit ups. :0)

I got a really good session of yoga in yesterday, doing a combination of stretches, regular exercises, and really relaxing at the end. Today I’ll concentrate on the elliptical trainer. I’ve decided to try doing these on alternate days, since I can’t seem to do both on one day very often.
