I’m not nearly as wealthy in books as this pictures shows, but I FEEL like I’ve moved this many books today.
I’ve told you before that my husband and I are eating low-carb now. One of my double kitchen cabinets was jam-packed with “other” cookbooks.
I made a decision to move all the others to our bookshelves in the living room so that I could reorganize the cabinet to only hold low-carb cookbooks. That meant I had to move the books that were in the living room shelves off – and cleaning the shelves – so I could arrange them in some sort of reasonable fashion.
As I went through, there were books we hadn’t used in years. The ones that were my son’s I put on the highest shelf. (He’s back in Shanghai and won’t be using them for at least a year.)
I put several of ‘MY’ art books together on a much higher shelf, since I wanted the other cookbooks to be arranged according to SOME kind of reasonable order and readily accessible.
When my husband saw what I was doing, he decided that HE needed to get rid of some books. By the time I dragged the ones I had decided to sell or donate to my computer in the office, I couldn’t FIND my table anymore! It was piled high with computer books.
I have just now finished looking up each book on Amazon to see if it’s ‘sale-able.’ If it is, I’ve listed it and put it in our “For Sale” stacks. If it isn’t, I’ve listed it on our library donation sheet and put the books in plastic bags to take to the library tomorrow.
I’m pooped now, and covered with dust. I’m not finished. I haven’t made it back to the living room where stacks of ‘other’ cookbooks await organization….
I think they’ll have to wait until tomorrow….
It’s a good thing the main part of our dinner is ready in the crock pot!
